We wanted continually engage with the business and show progression towards a target architecture. The SPOT (Single Point of Truth) solution lets us look at where are we today & how IT is contributing to the business, it also enables us to have improved control and better insight into the impact of change. A robust and controlled EA approach is vital if the scale of change is to be delivered within JLR as we are aiming to double car production, which will involve major systems upgrade & replacement including ERP systems into a 24 x 7 operating environment.
What did we do?
We chose to work with Bybrick as they accelerated our plan through their templates and experience and together we asked the CIO his top 10 questions that we should address, which enabled us to prioritise our roadmap of activity against these specific needs of the business.
We have an integrated solution (Project Management via PPM, data flows from Aris & Business Process Models) delivered via a Bybrick hosted & encrypted solution accessed on ipads through Active Directory.
We can now evidence our EA and IT change journey with the business and give the CIO an accurate view of IT delivery to share with the CEO. SPOT has enabled us to gain more insight into the black box of our IT outsourcing contracts, & real time information & KPI’s are beginning to support better informed decision making
